ROHINI R SUNDAR

I’m Rohini R Sundar, a contemporary Indian artist based in Bangalore. My journey as an artist began after nearly 2 decades in marketing and market research and that continues to shape my work  - through structure, pattern and what lies beneath the obvious.

 

Colour plays an important role in my work, allowing me to draw focus and create an impactful experience that stays with the viewer.

I draw inspiration from Indian philosophy and contemporary fiction - moving between the worlds of Upanishads and writers like Murakami. My grandmother’s stories still stay with me and shape my work.

I work from my studio in Bangalore, India, where I surround myself with travel collectibles, books and plants that inspire me and my work .
